Condolences

We have learned that Larry Westphal’s father Gene passed away on Tuesday.  Visitation is in Fontanelle on the 11th, and the funeral will be in Greenfield on the 12th.  Details for both services and the obituary can be found here.  Please keep the family in your thoughts.

Schedule updates

I am continuing to update the schedule as we get contracts back.  Maxwell and Exira have been added recently.  There was also an update to the Collins date.  It has moved from June 28th to June 21st due to a scheduling conflict on their end.  Looking out the window at the snow falling, it’s hard to believe that we’re only a little over two months out from the start of the season!!

I have started posting the 2013 lineup on the Schedule page.  Only the pulls who have signed contracts back to us are posted, so expect this list to grow as we get more back.  Tech day and first pull is scheduled for Sunday, June 2nd, in Guthrie Center.

Thank you to Sandra Englehart for giving me permission to post her 2011 video to the Media page!! As you know, the widget that used to display our photos has been giving me some grief. I am continuing to work on finding a new widget, but in the meantime I think this video does a fine job of showing what our events and our tractors look like.

New permanent board member

We have a change in leadership for the 2013 season. Jim Clewell announced his resignation as permanent board member, and Brian Longhenry has accepted the nomination. Please congratulate Brian when you see him, and be sure to take all of your really tough questions to the new guy!

Track locations and Open class

Can you believe that there are only two pulls left in the 2012 season??  I have some helpful information for both of them.  First, the track location in Madrid has changed.  I have updated it on the map, but for those of you that run on landmarks, turn west off of Hwy 17 at the Dollar General on the south end of town.  It’ll be “right there”.

The track location in Guthrie Center will be back on the south end of the fairgrounds where it normally is (not where we had practice).  It’s easiest to come in off of Hwy 25.  Please remember to bring your membership cards for admittance into the fairgrounds.  Due to the rainout in Dallas Center, there will be a 1075 Open class in Guthrie Center.  Entry is $10 and pays back 1st thru 5th place.  I think it will be a fun end to the season!
