Results, Standings Updated
The results and standings for the last three pulls (Ft Dodge, Coon Rapids, & Radcliffe) are now posted. Coon Rapids ended Division I, so those standings are final.
Our next pull is Thursday July 29th in Indianola at the Warren County Fair. Please remember your membership cards or you will be charged to get into the pits. For those of you not familiar with the best way into the pits, from Hwy 92, go north on J St, then west on Salem Ave. After about one block, Salem will turn to the north, and you’ll want to go south into the fairgrounds. Check out the map by clicking on the globe icon on the schedule page for a better picture.
People new to the Indianola pull: our scale and pits are much farther from the track than most places, so 4-wheelers, tow tractors, etc. are advised! See you there!!
Schedule, Divisions, and Paybacks
I just have a few pieces of information that I’d like to share here. First, the results and standings have been posted for Yale. Hopefully now that I’ve got a few pulls under my belt, I’ll be able to keep the results and standings posted pretty quickly after each event.
Second, we have added two pulls since the beginning of the season- Atlantic is on Wednesday, August 4th at 6:30pm and Maxwell is on Saturday, August 7th at 1:00pm. We haven’t been to Atlantic in a few years, but it is my understanding that we will no longer be launching from in between the hog buildings. *collective cheering*
Third, I don’t believe anyone has officially announced the division breakdown for this year, so I will do the honors. Division I will end with Coon Rapids on July 17th. Division II will end with Dallas Center on August 28th. Division III will end with Linden on September 19th. The payback pulls will be Coon Rapids, Dallas Center, and Madrid in their respective divisions.
Hope all of you make the LONG HAUL to Fort Dodge on Thursday night!
This just in… 4th of July RESCHEDULED
Due to inclement weather, the town of Yale has rescheduled the ENTIRE 4th of July holiday to the 11th of July! Gotta love small towns! We will still be pulling at the same place at 1pm on Sunday. My informant tells me that there will be NO PARADE before the pull, so feel free to sleep in a little bit!
The results and standing after the Collins pull are posted. The results and standings from Truro are done and should be posted shortly!
Stuart pull CANCELED
Mother Nature has struck again. The pull in Stuart has been canceled due to rain. Our next pull is scheduled for Friday the 25th at 7:00pm in Collins. Again, please try to arrive as much in advance as possible, as we will be teching all tractors before the pull. Try to stay dry, and have a Happy Father’s Day!
UPDATE 6/24: Well, my test to see if anyone actually watched this webpage was a success! Haha. I received a phone call tonight informing me that I had mis-posted the date of the Collins pull in my above post! It is, in fact, on Friday the 25th (not Friday the 24th). Thanks guys!
Tech Day / Linden pull CANCELED
The weather just isn’t cooperating, so after three tries, we have canceled tech day and the first pull. Our first pull will be in Stuart on Sunday, June 20th, at 2pm. I will try to get the track located on our schedule page as soon as I can. Please show up a little extra early, as we will have to tech all tractors before the pull.
UPDATE: As of 6/16, the Stuart track will be located in the vicinity of SW 7th and Adair St. If you’re not familiar with the vast metropolis of Stuart- head for the wind generator, and you’ll be pretty close to the track!
Tech Day RESCHEDULED AGAIN
Due to an excess of water at the track location, Tech Day and Linden pull have been moved to SUNDAY JUNE 13TH. The times will remain the same- tech from 9am – 12pm and pull at 2pm. Cross your fingers for good weather, and hope to see you all there!!
And the list keeps growing…
We’re just a little more than two weeks away from tech day, and our schedule is still filling up! I’m adding each one as I get word that we’ve received a contract back, so be sure to check back frequently. I’ve also managed to get all of the track locations updated (globe icon on the schedule page) for those that I’m familiar with. I do not have a track location for Stuart yet, so if anyone knows where that track will be, please let me know!
Remember that tech is from 9am to 12pm on Saturday, June 5th at the Linden track. The pull is at 2pm. I’m anxious to see what everyone has done (okay… or not done) during the off-season. I’ve already had a sneak peek at the new means for transporting the scale, and it’s pretty awesome! No more hefting it via crane onto the sled!! See everyone in a couple weeks!
Tech Day
Our tech day and first pull have been added to the schedule! They will take place in Linden on Saturday, June 5th. Tech will take place between 9am and 12pm. The pull will start at 2pm. Yes, folks, that’s less than two months away, so get your mechanics and pit crews in gear!
Let the countdown begin!
It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for… the beginnings of our 2010 Tour have been posted to the Schedule page!!! The signed papers have started to roll in, and I’m sure more will be on their way as we get closer to the season. The Schedule page is pretty easy to navigate with the basic date/time/location setup, as well as a link to the track location. To see where the track is, just click on the globe icon and look for the green arrow. Green means go. Arrow means here. I’m sure you can handle it!
Don’t forget tomorrow and Saturday is the Spring Shootout at the Iowa State Fairgrounds (see post below). I will be at the MAPA scale all day, both days, so hopefully I’ll see you there!!
Get involved!
Our new webpage is a little more interactive than the old one. You have the ability to leave comments (be nice, now!) under any of the posts on the main page. To do so, just click on the post title, and it will take you to where you can post a comment and see what others may have said.
As you can see, we’ve continued working in the last few weeks. A VERY big thank you to Scott Sheeder for helping me get everything up and running. The results & standings for 2009 have been updated, as well as the classifieds and links. The pictures page is still under a little bit of construction, but the pictures from Linden in 2009, which never appeared on the old site, are now posted. If anyone has anything else they would like to see or just plain likes what they see, please leave a comment or email the webmaster!
Speaking of the classified section, please put it to good use! Did you find a few spare tractor parts over the winter that need a good home? Need some funds for an overhaul? Already do an overhaul that resulted in bits and pieces that you no longer need? Email your ad and pictures to the webmaster for review and posting!
