MAPA

2012 Rules Posted

The 2012 rules have been posted on the Rules page.  If you have questions or concerns, please contact one of your board members.

I will begin posting schedule dates as they become finalized, and a tech/practice date and location have not been set yet.  Please remember we are still looking for a sled operator, so forward any leads on that to a board member as well!

Sled person needed

We are still looking for someone to haul and operate our sled at the pulls this year.  This person would be responsible for transportation of the sled/scale to and from each pull as well as general maintenance.  If you know of anyone who might be interested, please call one of the board members or send an email to the webmaster.  Thanks!

MAPA 2012 rules coming eventually

For those of you who were unaware, the MAPA board of directors held their 2012 rules meeting yesterday.  We’d like to welcome Mike Westphalen and Brian Keat to their first terms on the board.  The rules for 2012 are currently in the proof reading stage, and I will get them posted as soon as they are finalized.  Just to add to the suspense- we did add one new class to the association!!

MAPA Banquet on October 29th

The annual MAPA banquet will be held on Saturday, October 29th at 6pm in Guthrie Center.  The location will be the same as the last couple years- the Guthrie Activity Center.  RuthAnn will be sending out letters with more information shortly, but I wanted to post the date and time here for those who are working on their October schedules!

ISU pull on October 1st

The annual Cyclone Power Pullers sponsor pull will be on Saturday October 1st at 9am.  It is in the same location as past years, which is west of Ames and south of Hwy 30 on V Ave.  Please remember that Hwy 30 is under construction in that area right now.

The group has also asked if I could post a link to a survey that will help them out with customer input for their competition.  The ten-question survey can be found at:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/TKN5VZK.  Please take the time to fill it out if you get a chance.

Guthrie Center rescheduled

The Guthrie Center pull has been rescheduled to Monday, September 5th at 1pm.  The track is in good shape, but the pits are a swamp.  We’re hoping that a day of breeze and sunshine will help.

Madrid pull rained out

The Madrid pull has been called off due to rain.  The Guthrie Center pull will be on Sunday at 2pm.

1100 Open class in Guthrie Center

There will be a Sheeder’s Heaters / Kness Repair 1100 Open class in Guthrie Center.  The 1050 class went over so well in Dallas Center that we decided to try it again at 1100.  There is no entry fee for the Open class, but there will be a payback of $40/30/20/10 for the first four places.  On a personal note, I believe with the increase in weight class Lee will be driving the Renegade tractor in the Open, which means there could be a certain well-seasoned female driver operating as a free agent for that class- just in case anyone’s looking.  :)

Nevada rain points posted

First, for those of you that weren’t there, Nevada was rained out.  The rain points have been posted.  It was the first pull of Division 3, so if you showed up- you’re leading the points!!

Madrid is on Saturday at 12pm, and Guthrie Center is on Sunday at 2pm.  There has been some advertising for the Guthrie County Fair that says 1pm, but it will be at 2pm.  Please have your membership cards ready when you come in the gate.

Indianola pull is Saturday at 5pm

For those who weren’t able to make it, Mingo was rained out.  It looked like we had an excellent turn out for tractors, so it was a shame that Mother Nature didn’t cooperate.  The rain points have been updated.  Due to the rainout, the 1050 Open class has been moved to the Dallas Center pull.

I wanted to make sure that everyone knows that the pull on Saturday in Indianola is at 5pm.  The posters and one place on the website for the Warren County Fair say 7pm.  This is not correct.  Both the trucks and the tractors will run at 5pm.  The posters went to print before they changed the time.  Please let anyone you know who is planning to attend that it starts at 5!
